Our Story
A family that has always taken care of others.
We are the Bryan family.
Rooted in Jamaica and the United States, we were raised on love, generosity, dignity and community. For as long as we can remember, helping others has been at the center of our lives. We sent barrels home to Jamaica and Antigua and helped relatives, neighbors and friends across the diaspora whenever we could.
Giving was never an event.It was our way of life.
In 2024, we gave that work a name. We created The Bryan Foundation to honor our family legacy and build something lasting.
That same year, our family lost a beloved cousin. She was an educator, community champion and newly elected council member in Longbough, Clarendon. Her death left a deep ache across a community that relied on her leadership and love. As people asked who would look out for them now, we made a promise to carry her work forward.

Many families we know work hard, dream big and carry enormous pride. Still, the basics can remain out of reach. In communities without a reliable safety net, a missed payment can mean going without food, medicine or school supplies. The Foundation stands in that gap with dignity, compassion and respect.
Our parents came to the United States with little, yet they shared everything. Our home was full of guests, laughter, food and community. We watched our mother cook for entire neighborhoods and our father work tirelessly for the family. Their charge was simple: work hard, become your best and help others. They also told us the truth: life no easy.
Our work is rooted in relationship. We know the people we serve and stay connected through calls, check-ins and trips back home. We are not a large, anonymous organization. We are a family, and this work is personal.
Marjorie’s Legacy
